Always be Ready for any Casualties

The Philippines is prone to natural disaster and calamities, such as typhoons, volcano eruptions, floods, landslides, earthquakes, and other calamities that I forgot to mention. Each calamity can be dangerous and deadly which is why we must know the drastic and safety measures we must do during these events.

Earthquakes are one of the calamities we experience from time to time, it is important to know what to do in this types of situation. Earthquakes are the sudden release of energy in the earth’s crust. With the advancement of technology we can determine how strong and where the earthquake is happening, this gives us enough time to prepare for an evacuation. Participating in earthquake drills are important, it can make us safe, it shows us what to do and not to do during an earthquake, most  of all how to evacuate and where to evacuate.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council led the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2020, which aims to teach and strengthen every regions preparedness in such crisis. They also talked about the necessary things to do before, during, and after an earthquake, they tackled about the safety measures to do like the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” and most importantly not to panic and get nervous during an earthquake.

The importance of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is to enhance our skills in responding to calamities like earthquakes, it develops and strengthen the awareness of people, and to teach not only students but families what to do during this calamity.
