Araw ng Kagitingan

Imahe
Araw ng kagitingan or Valor day is a day to honor the Filipino and American soldiers who stood their ground against Japanese soldiers who invaded the Philippines during World war II. Araw ng Kagitingan also known as Bataan Day, is a national observance in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan during World War II and honor the Bataan heroes who filled a huge role to slow down the enemy forces.  The  Bataan   Death March was the culmination of a long   battle   against an invading force, and was a bloody indicator of the brutality of the Imperial Japanese Forces that occupied the Philippines. The captured American and Filipino soldiers were in bad health, after fighting a protracted   battle   with little food and water. It falls on  April 9,  although in 2009, its celebration was moved to  April 6  to avoid it from coinciding with Maundy Thursday. photo retrieved from: https://thejerny.com/travel/77th-araw-ng-kagitingan-bataan/ sources retrieved from: https://thestrategy

Season of Lent, Is Time to Repent

Imahe
Lenten season starts on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday, this is a season of to reconnect spiritually to our Lord and Savior, and reflect on Jesus Christ's suffering and sacrifices for us, his life, death and resurrection. Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It is also time for us to atone for our pasts sins and mistakes we have committed and done in our lives.  Lent comes from the word, "lengthen" which refers to the lengthening of spring. For this year's Lenten season we were unable to carry out traditions and sometimes attend mass due to the pandemic and amount of covid cases our country is handling right now. What's important is to always consider our faith and pray to atone for our sins and be grateful to what we have received.

SUPER "WOMEN"

Imahe
As March comes, we celebrate National Women's Month when we cherish the women in our lives and all the world. This month is dedicated to all women who did hardships for us and society, from our mothers to known women and to remind us women were never inferior to men.  People stand for Gender Equality, because women were never made for men and to be less than men but stand as an equal partner. Before women were seen to be lesser than men wherein they were treated harshly but many women proved they are worthy to be respected and did lots of things to make our world and nation better. Now women are free of discrimination. photo retrieved from: https://thecostaricanews.com/women-empowerment-the-right-path-if-we-want-a-better-world/
